HambaPay Launches Commercial Rollout on July 12, 2025

We are excited to announce that on July 12, 2025, HambaPay will officially begin the commercial rollout of our digital payment solution across South Africa’s taxi industry.

This milestone marks the start of full-scale implementation, following months of on-the-ground testing, stakeholder collaboration, and passenger education. With the support of taxi associations, SANTACO, and the Department of Transport, HambaPay is now ready to serve the broader public and taxi operators with a secure, reliable, and cashless payment system.

Our mission has always been to empower the minibus taxi sector through innovation — enhancing safety, boosting operational efficiency, and driving financial inclusion. The launch of the industrial phase is a major step toward that vision.
